Welcome to the new New Jersey

Thanks to TaxProf Blog

With the new taxes, thanks to the lame duck, Quinn, Madigan and his Kabal, Illinois rivals all in the industrialized world when it comes to corporate taxing.  We now have everything NJ has, less Gov. Christie.  Good luck getting a job....

Indiana and Wisconsin Court Illinois Businesses Fleeing 66% Individual and 46% Business Tax Hikes

Wall Street Journal editorial, Illinois Exit Fee:

Jubilation has broken out in the Midwest—or at least in Wisconsin and Indiana, now that Democrats in neighboring Illinois have rushed their tax increase into law.

Late Tuesday night, Democrats in the Illinois house and senate rammed through Governor Pat Quinn's 67% hike in the state income tax and a nearly 50% jump in the state corporate tax. The increase will add $1,400 to the average family's tax bill, and we doubt it will help job creation in a state that has lost 374,000 jobs since 2008.

New Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker immediately rolled out a press release inviting Illinois businesses to decamp to the Badger State, contrasting his agenda to reduce taxes and welcome business with the Illinois increase. Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels added: "We already had an edge on Illinois in terms of the cost of doing business, and this is going to make it significantly wider."

That's for sure. Small businesses will pay the new 5% income tax rate, up from 3%, and the effective corporate tax rate will rise to 9.5%, which, when combined with the federal rate of 35%, will make the Land of Lincoln one of the most expensive places in the world to conduct business.

Liberals die hard

The headline says it all.  However the best part of the article describes how Justice Brennan  was not happy with Thurgood Marshall for not continuing to tack left after his appointment to the court.  Also how Brennan was a champion of womens rights, yet he did not want to serve on the Court with them and only grudgingly used ladies as clerks.  Typical Liberal

NEA needs to be taught a lesson

I’m Just askin’

I am not a tax law attorney, although I have seen many episodes of Perry Mason and I have stayed at Holiday Inn , just not last night. Anyway please correct me if I am wrong. I’m calling on Glenn Reynolds, The Power line Boys, the Great One, all respected Barristers.

In the article here   http://www.marklevinshow.com/goout.asp?u=http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/public-sector-unions-try-to-bail-out-democrats-105064254.html it states that the NEA and other Public Sector Unions are using money from dues to contribute to political operations. Correct me if I am wrong, is this not a violation of I.R.S. code? I’m just askin’

Your small, but important

Dear Delawareans:

I can understand your hesitancy to support Christine O’Donnell. However let’s take a quick look at the situation.

1. Yes she is weird and possibly a little slow. However that has not stopped you from electing Representatives before. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Biden

2. If you are a little worried about her mental capacity, she won’t be getting access to any launch codes. Also see #1

3. If you are worried about experience, That didn’t seem to matter in 2008. #1’s boss.

4. By choosing between a Conservative odd ball and a Marxist intellect, you will determine the makeup of the Senate. The question is, do you want to continue the policies of the current administration or would you like a second chance at economic recovery, health care reconstruction and/or determining our shared future.

In your heart you know the answer…

UMMMMMMM Beer

From the Depths of Our Cellar

  • The other day we decided to pop open a bottle of 7 month old Bell's Consecrator Dopplebock. Needless to say, it is drinking wonderfully. The alcohol diminished, letting the malts take center stage. The caramel flavors became much more pronounced in the aged version than when we had it fresh.

Is this liquor speak for "We have a ton of this stuff and we had better get rid of it"?  It is one thing to let Wine age properly, but anytime I hear Alcohol Diminished I figure I am getting ripped off.

Voter Fraud

I understand that the Federal Government has brought suit against a number of States (Counties) that have failed to issue ballots to their service personel overseas.  This is a refreshing change of pace considering that the Justice Department jumps thru hoops whenever a Democratic voters has to stand in a line longer than 5 minutes.

If I had any pull in the Tea Party movement I would suggest that they get members to dress up in colonial garb and stand outside of as many precincts as possible.  I would believe that this would make voters think about what made this Country great before they pull the lever.  Just a thought...

Or we could get Black Panthers to stand outside the doors and... Oh never mind

Joy, Joy, Joy

As I posted months ago, Joy Behar could be the biggest gasious, wind bag to come down the pike in years (sorry Matthews,Oberman,Dowd, Yada, Yada).  Her staged performance on the "Spew" yesterday was the biggest piece of contrived crap I have ever seen.

I was unfortunate (?) enough to see this live.  Thank God I have a fulltime job.  This was the first time I had seen any of this show in a year, but since I heard B.O. was going to be on I wanted to check it out.  Anyway,  if you see the uncut footage, check out Behar's act.  She sits there like the guy is a leaper.  Show some respect for your guest.  Then all off the sudden after calmly sitting with crossed legs she gets up a walks out.  If Walters had any journalistic integrity she would fire this cow on the spot.  This was all an act.  I think she was planning to do this all along.  Then when Whoppi let out the B.S. rant Joyful thought "Oh yes, I am suppose to be mad at this"

Why do New Yorkers support this hack.  Do they?

If CNN wants to be like MSNBC or Fox keep hiring kool aid drinking blow hards like this.  Why get rid of Ricky if you are going to keep this left wingnut on the payroll.

To my lady friends, you should really consider discontinuing watching shows like the View, Oprah, etc.  They are a waste of time and worse, junk food for the brain.

Circle the firing squad or thats the way the coalition crumbles

If you have not seen the video, go to the MSNBC website and check two different exchanges that occurred during the week. The first was the post election break down on Chris “screwball” Matthews program on Wednesday. He and his special guest Howard Dean got into a tiff about the reasoning behind the Massachusetts vote for Scott Brown. Even Democrat water carrier Matthews could not believe Howies logic. The bottom line is the Chairman’s belief that the Commonwealths electorate voted for Mr. Brown because they wanted a public option from President Obama. To Matthews credit he did not let this ridiculous spin go on uncontested. So vote for a Republican to get a public option in the health care bill. See it to believe it.

The second interview from the Bizarro world is the Ed Shultz interview with Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. Ed used Dean logic to say the election in Mass. was a mandate for the democrats to move left and give us a public option. He also claimed that the Administration was in bed with the insurance industry and gave this as the reason for the failure of the health care bill. In the words of the Guinness guys “Brilliant”

Boy oh Joy

It's been a long summer (fall) but I am back.  I have to comment on the Joy Behar Show on CNN.  Last night I flipped it on, why I still don't know.  However when one of her guest, I believe Harry Shearer (sp) mentioned that a certain Republican Senator was a RINO, Joy was not familar with this acronym.  Any credibility as a political observer is lost, if she had such cred.  All she can do is hammer Sarah P...

Seperation of Church and State

Not trying to get into a big fuss over the establishment clause, but how is the lastest IHSA policy banning prayer before State tournament games played at private schools not exactly what the 1st amendment protects against.  The State is restricting religion in this case.  This is one of the reasons people send their children to religious schools and now they are told they cannot pray there?

We all would like to know...

My local Township office is having a week full of events to explain the different services it provides for our community.  I would like an explaination as to why we need a Township level of government myself.  The State of Illinois has the most levels of government of any State in the Union.  It has never been explained to me why the County government could not hand the assesments and services that the T.S. provides.
